Perfect to cozy up to year around our ruby red Quince Marmalade pays homage to ‘the first fruit’ and the origin of ‘marmalade’. Most years we're lucky to include a haul of fruit from a century old tree on Nordstrom Lane on Orcas' Crow Valley. We supplement this special harvest with Portugal quince from a family farm in Oregon. This unique preserve is softly set with lots of beautiful red jelly. We're positively giddy about it.
Use it as you would a contemporary marmalade, and enjoy the notes of honey and earth. Think coconut shrimp dipping sauce, sheep's milk cheese, a buttery baguette, or a rich mostarda (add a couple tablespoons of dry Coleman’s to a jar and serve with veal shank*). A looser set version of quince paste, with chunks of fruit for body and texture. An unexpected and delightful addition on a cheese board.
